Craig William Taylor

A graduate of the University of California, Davis, Craig William Taylor earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1996. As further preparation to take his engineering skills to the private sector, he attended the University of California, Davis’ Graduate School of Management where, in 2002, he received a Master of Business Administration.

Craig William Taylor has been interested in community service since an early age and remains actively involved with several causes and organizations. In his youth, Craig William Taylor was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, eventually earning the rank of Eagle Scout. In his adult life, Craig William Taylor supports such charities and public service organizations as the Arthritis Foundation, the Christmas Wish Program, Goodwill Industries International, Inc., and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Over the course of a 15-year career as a data systems manager and engineer, Craig William Taylor demonstrated versatility and competence. Craig William Taylor secured his first job in the field as a graduate student, when he was hired as a Systems Application Engineer with Roberts Technical Services in Pleasant Hill, California. During his two years with Roberts, Craig William Taylor was responsible for the smooth operation of the Plant Information (PI) server. Craig William Taylor also worked at the company help desk and performed troubleshooting of client software.

Craig William Taylor has spent most of his career at Genentech, where he is currently employed. He has held two separate jobs at the Vacaville-based company manufacturing plant over the course of eight years. For one of his first assignments at Genentech, Craig William Taylor was asked to lead an effort to create and maintain the necessary infrastructure for making plant data available to user groups. Craig William Taylor also designed a system for collecting and sharing batch data, which he then implemented using Oracle software. Craig further improved the local data-sharing environment by developing an Internet-based information center for delivering plant specifics. Later, Craig William Taylor managed the team tasked with deploying a new employee recognition program.
